In New Zealand, the first vines were planted around 1820, at a time when the forefathers of Dr.Bert Salomon produced white wine in the first generation of SALOMON UNDHOF in Austria/Europe.
Christopher Andrew, New Zealander in 4th generation, came to the winery SALOMON UNDHOF in 2008 as an intern for harvest. Chris is not only a graduate of oenology at Lincoln University in Christchurch / New Zealand, but also a particularly sensitive and experienced winemaker.

Bert launched a joint venture with Chris being his New Zealand partner. The joint venture SALOMON&ANDREW reflects the common bond of winemaking on two continents.
