2011: Early flowering that finished around June 10th; very warm June and early July, overall very dry season causing very thick skins of the grapes. A cool and cloudy  2nd half of July and 1st half of August slowed down ripening. High sugar levels already mid of September but most grapes had not reached adequate flavor ripeness, due to the dry growing season.
By mid October temperatures dropped and the grapes had reached their physiological ripenes and the flavors were fantastic. Most of the grapes we crushed during the second half of October. The harvest was finished by mid November.

All together the vintage 2011 can be classified as a year of great quality. The wines of SALOMON UNDHOF in 2011 are characterized by depth and substance, they show ripe fruit and layers of flavors.
